Future
Projects of Gorkha Ayurved Company (P) Ltd.
1.
Model Herbal Garden.
The
company management has designed a scheme to set up
Model Herbal Garden in Thankot, Kathmandu. Out of
the total land of 7-3-2-0 ropanis, 5 ropanis would
be used to set up medicinal garden and 2-3-2-0 ropanis
will be used to constitute office buildings and branch
processing unit of the company. This proposed project
site is situated quite near to the east of Tribhuvan
Park and about 300 meter South-east of Thankot police
check post on the gravel road to Chitlang. The company
management is working on a plan to establish this
herbal garden within the next few years by cultivating
many species of herbal plants in Thankot. Moreover,
in the long run the GAC management is working out
a plan to build greenhouses in which the environment
could be artificially controlled for successful and
sustaining cultivation of tropical, sub tropical and
cold region herbs. This model herbal garden would
be the pioneer of such a type of unique medicinal
garden in Nepal.
The
garden will serve as a garden to show to visitors,
and will introduce many people to different species
of medicinal herbs, and the products grown in this
garden would also be used in the on-site processing
unit in Thankot, for the products of Gorkha Ayurved.
Surplus can also be sold to interested buyers. It
is also our hope that this garden will inspire other
companies to take part in such an endeavor, and thus
enhance medicinal herb production in Nepal.
Importance:
This is a unique concept of the company to promote
medicinal herbal business across the country and introduce
its significances to the people in Nepal and throughout
the world. The following communities and sectors would
be benefited from this proposed medicinal garden.

2. Villagers and low-income groups of people who would
be employed there.
3. Researchers involved on medicinal herb studies.

Generating Activities
The company will launch two types of activities in
the herbal garden, which are as follows:
Demonstration
The proposed garden is located just at the back and
to the east of Tribhuvan Park and easily accessible
for people to visit.
Herbal
consumption
Without causing any harm to the beauty and attraction
of the herbal garden, the company would be able to
partially consume the herbs grown in the medicinal
garden. There would be three kinds of herbs in the
garden--trees, shrubs and annual crops. The annual
crops can also be harvested and used for the making
of medicines.
